find the fun in December

Here are some little ways to add fun to your days this December πŸŽ„

  • 1st – Christmas Lights Day. Drive around your town (on your own or do a Tacky Light Tour!) or just walk around your neighborhood to enjoy the lights πŸ€©πŸŽ„

  • 3rd – Make a Gift Day. Here’s a list of 100 ideas βœ‚οΈ 🎁

  • 5th – Bathtub Party Day. If you have a little one/s, have an actual party in the bathtub! Ideas: balloons, bath bombs, music, bubbles, popsicles, etc. πŸŽˆπŸ› πŸŽ‰

  • 8th – Pretend to be a Time Traveler Day. How fun would this be πŸ˜‚ Feels like a good day to watch a movie on time travel like Back to the Future, About Time (my favorite movie!!), Kate & Leopold, 13 Going on 30, etc. This day also makes me think of the episode of New Girl when β€œNick from the future” visits (Season 2, Episode 2).

  • 10th – Nobel Prize Day. Fun dinner conversation topic: share about how the Nobel Prize started & discuss: who would you give one to? πŸ€“ πŸ†

  • 11th – Have a Bagel Day. Hit up your fave bagel spot, or try out a homemade bagel recipe πŸ₯―

  • 14th – Roast Chestnuts Day. Here’s how to do it – in the oven or, in the spirit of THE Christmas Song, over an actual open fire πŸ”₯

  • 15th – Wear Your Pearls Day. Don’t save them for someday – wear the pearls, use the plates, drink that fancy bottle of wine you’ve been saving for a special day – today is a special day as any! πŸŽ‰

  • 16th – Chocolate Covered Anything Day. Here’s a list of 25 foods to try covered in chocolate 😎🍫

  • 18th – Answer the Phone like Buddy the Elf Day. Anytime anyone calls you today, answer like Buddy! Or have an Elf watch party ☎️

  • 19th – Look for an Evergreen Day. Maybe go on a hunt looking for wonderfully decorated Christmas trees around your town/neighborhood 🌲

  • 20th – Go Caroling Day. If you’re intimidated, here’s how to go caroling 🎀

  • 23rd – Roots Day. I just discovered this documentary series on PBS called Finding Your Roots & it looks like a great watch πŸ€“

  • 25th – Christmas Day. "And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.'" Luke 2:10 Merry Christmas to all! 🌟

  • 27th – Cut Out Snowflakes Day. Here’s an easy tutorial. One of my favorite tricks that my friend Lacy taught me is to use magazine pages with different colors/patterns/backgrounds – they make for such fun snowflakes! 😍 ❄️

  • 29th – Tick Tock Day. Make a countdown chain/chart for something you’re looking forward to! ⏰

  • 31st – Make Up Your Mind Day. A really good read on how to make life decisions πŸ“–
